Meeting are held on the first Monday of every month from September to June at the Westwood House Hotel which is located on the western side of the city next to the N59 Galway-Clifden Road. Further details below.
All upcoming meetings will have a new observing workshop to help beginners with their observing skills. Nights out with telescopes within the city area will also become a regular part of our program with members being informed via text. Upcomings Meetings 2010/11 Season

After a quick survey of the current scope of the search for life in the Universe Peter will suggest some avenues that amateur astronomers keen to enlarge their knowledge of this subject may wish to pursue. What is life? How does it arise? What does the evolution of life on earth suggest about the sort of life we may find in space?
